Then I did a one hour test flight from YMML to YSSY, and everything worked perfectly! Not only that, it worked better than it did in FSX.
I then did an install directly into FSX-SE, that required me to re-activate the products, which was done without any problems.
I did like I said I would, and I did a complete uninstall of the 757 (including the 757-300 & 757-200F expansion models) from FSX, that included deleting the Windows Registry entries. So I suggest you copy your DLL.XML file from the the %AppData%\Microsoft\FSX folder to the %AppData%\Microsoft\FSX-SE folder, THEN deletete everything in it, and REPLACE it with the following and save it: This is what is in my FSX-SE DLL.XML file:Ĭaptain_Sim\727\Captain_ Not sure if this matters but I have never had FSX on this laptop until I saw it was available on Steam. Location not available.location doesn't exist. Brought up the RUN prompt again and pasted this:
\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Special Effects SDK\visualfxtool.dll \Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Traffic Toolbox SDK\traffictoolbox.dll \Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Mission Creation Kit\object_placement.dll I brought up the RUN and entered: %AppData%\Microsoft\FSX\dll.xml. I installed the latest version of FSUIPC. We just need to give them some time to get it done. Hopefully a merge tool, like the one create for the 777 Captain, will be created for the 757 Captain. This is the only fix I can think of to get it to run correctly. MAKE A BACKUP OF THE FSX-SE DLL.XML FILE BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY CHANGES TO IT!!! Just in case you mess it up. You need to copy it from there, and paste it into the FSX-SE DLL.XML file (copy and paste this %AppData%\Microsoft\FSX-SE\dll.xml into the run command to open the FSX-SE DLL.XML file). To the FSX DLL.XML (copy and paste this %AppData%\Microsoft\FSX\dll.xml into the run command to open the FSX DLL.XML file). When the 757 was installed, it was most likely added the following:
When I load a flight the FMC and attitude indicator are blank. I installed a fresh CS 757-200 to FSX-SE. Other than those issues I mentioned, the 757-200/300/200F work fine in FSX-SE! I have added the I:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\FSX\ in front of the line, but every time I do it and start FSX-SE, it asks me to trust the gauge again and enters it again the without preceding I:\Steamapps\common\FSX\. While in the FSX-SE.CFG it is entered as:Ĭaptain_Sim\757\cs.=1 J:\Flight Simulator X\Captain_Sim\757\cs.=1 - FSX is installed in J:\Flight Simultor X The error seems to be in the way FSX-SE enters the trusted cs.sound.dll file.įor example, in the FSX.CFG it is listed as: I think I have found out why the cockpit sounds are not working in most of the Captain Sim addon aircraft in FSX-SE, but my attempts to fix it don't work.
You must make sure that they are between the last and the lines or you will mess it up, so BACK IT UP BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY CHANGES TO IT! Open the C:\Users\ \AppData\Microsoft\FSX folder, then open the DLL.XML file (it may be in lower case, not upper case). You MUST copy the info for the CS 757 from the DLL.XML file for FSX to the DLL.XML file for FSX-SE. Copy the cs757_1.bmp file from the FSX\Effects\texture folder to the Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\effects\texture folder.Ħ. Copy the cs757_edge.fx, cs757_land.fx, cs757_navgre.fx, cs757_navred.fx, cs757_navwhi.fx and cs757_sf.fx files from the FSX\Effects folder to the Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\effects folder.ĥ. You can also copy the CS_B757-300 and CS_B757-200F folders if you have the Expansion Models.Ĥ. Copy the FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\ CS_B757-200 folder, and paste them in the Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes folder. Copy the 757 AND navigation folders AND the Captain_ file from the FSX\Captain_Sim folder to the Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\Captain_Sim folder (created in step 1).ģ. Create a Captain_Sim folder in Steam\steamapps\common\FSX (you will be copying things into it in step 2).Ģ.
It will create a DLL.XML file for FSX-SE if one does not already exist!ġ. If you have not installed the latest version of FSUIPC ( ), go and get and install it. This means that it still suffers from the missing T/D and/or end of the route. The Nav, Beacon and Strobe lights are not working, but aside from that, it works just like it does in FSX. I have copied the 757 Captain over to Flight Simulator X - Steam Edition and it works.
